The Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) has suspended the national team captain Sandeep Lamichhane.
Sandeep was the subject of a rape accusation from a juvenile girl, and today the District Court of Kathmandu issued an arrest order for him.
The performance committee meeting of the CAN, which took place today, September 8, Thursday, voted to suspend Sandeep from the national team, according to the report submitted by Acting Secretary, Prashanth Vikram Malla.
Following the court issued of an arrest warrant against him by the Kathmandu District court, the working committee of CAN made its decision.
The incident happened the day before Lamichhane and the rest of the team left for Kenya on September 21 for a T20i and One Day series.
Lamichhane played five T20i matches but was absent for the one-day leg since he was playing in the Caribbean CPL.
Nepal defeated the visitors 3-0 in one-day matches after taking the tense T20 series 3-2.
