Nepal declare the Climate Change Crisis

According to the Minister of Forests and Environment Pradeep Yadav, plans are in the motion to declare a climate catastrophe in Nepal in order to attract international attention.

Minister Yadav said that Nepal was very vulnerable to the effects of climate change and that the declaration would only be mad after significant consultation with experts and stakeholders in order to draw attention to Nepal throughout the world.

Yadav claimed, "Visually, climate changes effects can be seen everywhere. Especially Nepal's mountains, agriculture, and water resources are being impacted by climate change. It is time to declare a climate emergency in Nepal and call attention to it".

He added that they were looking at methods and means to this effect. He said the Ministry was working to determine an appropriate "modality" to proclaim the climate crisis, for which it needed fact-based pieces of evidence. He said that everyone was aware of the effects of climate change and that it was obvious.
